Their menu does say they have a gluten free bun, though, I just didn't order it. I ordered a Stack 571 burger with a lettuce wrap, no bun and fruit instead of fries. He assured me that the burger would be cooked on a clean part of the cookout but did warn me that the fries wouldn't be safe as they are in a shared fryer. He personally went to the kitchen and asked the cook about a clean cooking area (the kitchen is in-view from the main dining area, so I could see him talk to the cook). He hadn't heard of Celiac disease before but was very accommodating when I explained that I couldn't have any food that had cross contact with gluten foods. I asked him if the cook could clean the grill or use a separate pan to cook my burger patty and if the could use clean utensils. Before being seated, I asked to talk to the manager and asked him if they could accommodate precautions for preparing my food safely. Stack 571, 5061 Main St., Tacoma, 253.301.2962, stack571.I had a great experience at this restaurant today. I stuck with the bacon theme that anchors the menu here and ordered the Maple Bacon Candied Walnut with bourbon and I was not misled as it was packed with actual bacon and sweet walnuts that combined with sweet and smokey bourbon. I was very excited to see adult shakes on the menu in addition to some signature cocktails, but after all, what goes better with burgers than shakes? Each night there are a half dozen options of shakes with a shot, ranging from Malted Mexican Mocha with tequila to the Washington Triple Berry with vodka. It's good to have a knife and fork handy with this burger as you just might need them. Staked, messy, and full of sweet and spicy flavors. The Jimi burger takes pork to an even higher level by combining burger with BBQ pulled pork, slaw, buttermilk fried onions, dill pickles and pepper jack cheese. This is a hearty burger that will surely fill you up and is a true representative of the name stack. This is a full half-pound burger with bacon, house bourbon slaw, bacon whiskey jam, cheddar cheese, pickles, marinated tomatoes and steak sauce served between two buns. I was a little disappointed to find out that the burgers here come without any accompanying sides, but once I got a look at the Fatted Sow and quickly realized it couldn't handle a side. My favorite, however, is the tempura green beans which are crunchy little beans with three dipping sauces - a BBQ aioli, creamy romesco, and a tangy burger sauce. There is also the crispy Brussels sprouts served with bacon whiskey jam, or the fried green tomatoes, a delight not always easy to find. These thick and crispy treats are drenched in sauce and fresh crumbled gorgonzola cheese that offer great flavor. The gorgonzola waffle fries bring new meaning to the fries of which most are accustomed. JAKE: I came for the burgers, but there are a few small plates and sides that can't be overlooked. It didn't take a lot of persuasion to get Jake to give this place a try. One of which is Stack 571 burger and whiskey bar name to honor the 571-foot stack that once stood on the same location. ANNOUNCER: With the revitalization of Point Ruston where the Asarco smelter used to stand, there is now a community feel with condos, activities and several restaurants.
